Production: Screening Test

Once all the films were in their final stages of the edit, we all exported them and did a class viewing.  We went first and it was quite daunting to have the others in the class watch our work, as so far only we had seen it all the way through. However,this went well and was good to get other’s feedback as to what they liked about it and what could be improved.

- They liked our casting
- The story flowed well
- They laughed when they were meant to
- They liked our character Betty
- Felt it was light-hearted and enjoyable to watch
- Need to put the binoculars scene in twice and to blur that more
- Need to put a writers and editors credit in the credits


It was good to see the other projects as well to compare and contrast our own with theirs to make further improvements.  Each group had a unique style of film and a fluid story that made the viewing enjoyable.  There was a range of skills exposed in each film and I felt each film was professionally expressed. 

Once the minor changes have been made to Young & Famous, it will be completely ready for the screening on the 24th May!

This is the feedback I have received from Helen regarding my progress and my progress as a team member throughout there unit so far. Some things mentioned that I need to improve on is making the script more chatty rather than formal and informational. It is a bit too 'newsy' at the moment and therefore needs to become more inviting and engaging. We need to assume that the audience knows absolutely nothing about what we are talking about and in order to do this we need to forget all the knowledge we already have and start from the very simple things like setting up who the interviewee is and what they do. It's important that we do this because otherwise the audience gets confused and no one knows who this person is. It's important that we let the information breathe. Fiction Adaptation: "Being British" by Deanna Rodger

I have chosen to adapt the poem " Being British " by Deanna Rodger.  From my understanding of the poem, it is about the challenges she has faced regarding interracial stereotyping and the struggle to be accepted as a British Citizen of natural birth.  Deanna is a spoken word poet and an international performer. Production: Jordan Hamsey

With filming aproaching, I still needed to find a Jordan Hamsey character.  This was a hard character type to find as it needed to be specific. After our initial casting days in November 2017, the options we were presented with were not right for the role due to their physical characteristics being too dissimilar to Gordon Ramsey. This character does need to be type cast as there needs to be some sort of recognition that Jordan Hamsey is based off of Gordon Ramsey.  After posting onto casting websites both through social media and Mandy profiles, I was put into touch with a man called Martin who is a professional Gordon Ramsey Look-a-like.
