Studio Production: Developing Ideas
After our ideas laboratory, I have decided to focus more on my second idea of Guess Who. This is because the reaction was very positive towards it and also I think it will be more feasible to accomplish.
Here is a further developed explanation of what this idea is:
The gameshow will be called "Who Are Ya?". A presenter will host the show actively involving the live audience. They are wearing all sorts of costume pieces such as bright colours, stripes, dots, hats, glasses, bow ties, moustaches etc. The presenter will announce who the contestant will be. This will be a member of the audience, who will then be sent to the 'isolation booth' where they will not be able to hear or see anything from the studio. The camera will then pick another member of the audience who the contestant will have to guess correctly by the ned of the show in order to win the prize. If the contestant does not guess correctly then the person who is meant to be guessed will be given the prize. However, if the contestant does guess correctly the 'who' will be able to steal the prize off the contestant by answering a question such as "how many hats are there in the studio today?" The audience will not be lit for this section to make it more challenging for the 'who'. In order for the contestant to be able to guess who the 'who' is, they will have to go through 3 rounds to earn 'guessing points'. The amount of points they win in each round determines how many guesses they can have.
Round 1
Multiple Choice. This game will mainly involve questions about famous board games such as Jenga and Monopoly.
An example question could be:
The word "Jenga" is the Swahili meaning for what?
A) to build B) the tower C) to fall
The answer would be A) to build.
Each question would be worth up to 3 guessing points. The more points they go for, the harder the question will be. If they have got their question wrong, they will lose that amount of guessing points from their guessing bank. At the end of the round, they will be able to use the guessing points to get closer to discovering who the 'who' is.
Round 2
Celebrity Guess Who. Using VT's the contestant will have to guess which celebrity is being described in the VT by members of the public. The VT team would have to go out into a public place such as Maidstone shopping centre and ask members of the public who are willing to be on camera to describe a celebrity without using their names.
An example could be:
90s Pop singer. Often seen without a shirt on. Has recently finished a reality tv series.
The answer is of course Peter Andre.
Each VT will be worth 3 guessing points.
Round 3
Puzzle Mania. The contestant will have a total of 1 minute 30 to answer as many general knowledge questions as possible in order to win their final guessing points. Each general knowledge question they get right will enable them to remove a numbered square from the board, which will reveal part of a celebrities face. However many celebrities the contestant guesses correctly will give them 1 guessing point.
If at the end of their final guesses they have not guessed correctly, the 'who' will win the prize and the contestant will go home empty handed. However, if the contestant does guess correctly the 'who' will have the chance to steal the prize. This will be done by asking a question about the show like "How many hats are there in the studio?" if they answer correctly, they will steal the prize and the contestant will leave with nothing.
