Production: Makeup Artist

For our makeup artist I found a girl called Megan who is studying Makeup at Canterbury College. She is our Delivery Guy Bob's daughter who registered her interest with me and expressed how she would love to be a part of the project.  She came along to the table read through and we met and chatted about the project and what would be expected of her.  We arranged that she would be picked up each day from her home by one of our crew assistants and brought to and from the location.

Unfortunately the weekend before the shoot was to take place, Megan was no longer able to help us as our makeup artist.  I asked if there was any one she could recommend to replace her for our shoot but unfortunately it was too last minute.

I then set to task in trying to find an alternative, but emailed the cast to pre-warn them to bring their own makeup to the set in case I was unable to source somebody.

I emailed a friend who had previously studied special effects makeup at college and now works for a face painting business but unfortunately she was unavailable. She spread the word to her other college friends but as it was such short notice they were also unable to help.

I then turned to a family member who had studied a course in makeup but again due to the last minute notice, she was already booked in with other work.  By this time it was too late to find anyone to help out, and I had exhausted all of my contacts and attempts to find people who could help.

Message to Hannah Quinn who helped out on Wez's shoot last year:

Message to Hannah Amos who has studied Makeup in the Past:

Email to Lauren Bampton who also has studied makeup in the past and wanted to know what to send out to her other colleagues:

I also posted a Facebook status to see if others knew of anyone who may be able to help but unfortunately nothing came of it:

Due to not being able to find anyone to fill in for Megan, I spoke with Director Becca and we discussed how the makeup needed is only meant to be everyday makeup that the actresses should be able to do themselves.  As we had little to no time at all this is what we decided we would have to do.  Luckily our cast was very co-operative and understanding and felt comfortable to do their own makeup.  We had a powder and brush on set in case the actors needed touching up which we could do ourselves as well.
