Pre-Production: Set Design
As the producer it is my job to make sure that the set looks realistic for each scene. It is my job to take Becca's vision of what the set should look like and make it happen through researching props and costumes and ensuring that there are the right amount of cast members or extras on set for that shoot.
For example, a scene that cannot be under produced is the Teaser sequence that is set in a conference party for a magazine launch. The importance of having the right set dress is needed to make the audience believe that what they are seeing is in fact a conference party scene.
Each scene must have the right amount of set dress to make it look like it is what it is supposed to be. For Annie & Dean's house the inside needs to look ordinary and lived in compared to Marie's house that would look pristine and like a show home. Each location needs to represent what the character's personalities are like in order for it to work.
The Set Design document is in the Pre-Production Book which will give more information on what have decided each location to look like.
