Annie’s Instagram Account
In Young & Famous Annie has created an Instagram account in the attempt to make herself “Insta-Famous” to gain the attention and respect of her children and grandchildren once again. It was decided that to entice more viewers to watch the show that an actual account would be created where spectators could see what the character’s are up to when the show is not on.  For example, when Annie posts a picture in the show, it will also be uploaded to this Instagram account as a way of making our viewers interact with the show.  This is in keeping with the theme of Annie and Dean discovering new technology and them trying their hardest to be young and not just the average “silver-surfer”.  Not only will they be able to see updates from the episodes, they will also receive behind the scenes footage and information through this account.  Audiences will get access to Betty-Jo’s “Arnold Cam” which deals purely with behind the scenes footage and is completely separate to Annie’s Instagram account.

Arnold Cam
Arnold Cam is a way for our audiences to get insider information on the shoots, writing, rehearsals and anything behind the scenes! Arnold Cam is a Youtube page that is owned by Betty and has a token acknowledgement in the treatments to Episode 5 of the series.  Although this isn’t being made, it has been discussed that Arnold Cam may appear in the credits of the Young & Famous pilot episode to divert viewers to indulge more in the world of Annie & Dean.  Arnold Cam is all from the perspective of Betty’s robotic cat that haunts Dean and this is usually why Arnold is found unexpectedly in mysterious places throughout the pilot.  Character’s will interact with Arnold on set and explain what is happening at that time of filming and some possible things that they could discuss would be:
  • What scene is being shot and what it is about
  • An interview of another character on set
  • A close up view of what is being shot through the camera
  • Bloopers!
  • And much more!

Posters
The title sequence for Young & Famous is animated and therefore it was considered that our animated characters would be sitting on the palm of our physical actors hands, in a pose that represents their character.  The information on the poster would be the channel and time of broadcast, the production company logo of Big Laugh’s Network, the actor’s names, a tag line for the show and of course the title.  All of this would be in the particular branding of Young & Famous. The idea of the poster is to allow audiences to get a feel for what the show is about from just looking at it and to entice them to watch the pilot episode.

Fiction Adaptation: "Being British" by Deanna Rodger

I have chosen to adapt the poem " Being British " by Deanna Rodger.  From my understanding of the poem, it is about the challenges she has faced regarding interracial stereotyping and the struggle to be accepted as a British Citizen of natural birth.  Deanna is a spoken word poet and an international performer. Production: Producer's Role During Post-Production Research

As I am the Producer for Young & Famous and I am not editing the project, I understand that the Producer takes a step back from the post-production phase.  I have researched into what the Producer's role is throughout this stage as I was unsure if what I was doing was enough.  According to the Creative Skill set; a Producer's role throughout Post - Production is to keep in regular contact with the Director and editor, but to let them harness the footage and create the film.  As the Producer, this is their time to deal with all the finances of the film such as paying actors, marketing and liaising with the distribution companies to sell or exhibit the film and confirming edit or sound changes.  As we are not going to be distributing Young & Famous to big companies to sell, I focused on paying all of the actors their expenses and regularly coming into the edit suit for review meetings with Simon and Andrea.  I...
