Pre-Production: First Tutorial
Our first tutorial with Simon went well as it was a chance to highlight the immediate problems with our initial ideas that need to be improved.

We discovered that our idea doesn't have a defining story that carries on throughout the entire series of the programme. For example Only Fools and Horses

has the storyline of them trying to become rich, and Outnumbered revolves around the parents trying to survive their children. This is currently what we are lacking with our idea. We need to be able to sum up our idea in a sentence to say what it is actually about.
We were advised to watch Terry and June a 70s/80s show that is similar to what we are proposing to create. By doing so we will be able to understand what goes into a SitCom and how to write a situational comedy successfully.
As myself and Becca are co-writing the script for the programme, Simon advised that we research in depth how to co-write to ensure that we make the most of the two writers and get the best out of what we've got to offer.
As we are working as a three for the Pre-Production unit, we will have to ensure that we are incredibly detailed in what we produce for our book. Our targets to hit for our next tutorial will be:
- Decide what our idea is 'about' in terms of story
- Research into co-writing
- Watch Terry and June
- List what exactly we are going to put into our Pre-Production Book and who is going to do what
