Professional Practice: Placement: My TV Show Pitch

On my first day at Twenty Twenty, I was invited to an ideas development meeting.  Throughout the course of my placement I have been considering possible ideas to pitch for a TV show.  By Day 3 I spoke to Kirsty about emailing Leon, who held the Ideas Development meeting, my pitch for an idea. She said to go for it and to CC her into the email.

The idea was sparked from my research for my Dissertation proposal and it made me think about how if I was to create a programme how I would raise awareness of mental health whilst entertaining the audience in a non-controversial way.  In the email listings below, is my email to Leon, describing my idea and then his feedback also.

This took me a lot of courage to email but I am really pleased that I did because it is going to give me the chance to present an idea properly to a TV company that may or may not like the idea.  Even if the idea isn't what they may be looking for, I have gained valuable experience from doing this, and also the advice of an industry professional which is going to aid me in taking my first steps to pitching an idea to a production company.
