Studio Production: Our Presenter George Seasay

We have our presenter for 'The Big Movie Quiz' and he is called George Sesay.  George has worked on many live interviews before and from his show reel he had lots of energy and an 'easy going' warmth to him that suited the show's style and tone very well.

George wasn't originally the first choice for our presenter as the team that auditioned him felt that someone else had a stronger performance.  However, when the rest of the crew saw George's audition tape compared to the chosen presenter's, everyone was much more drawn to George and believed his performance.

After editing the 'Trivia' VT, which stars George, we realised that he doesn't pronounce his words properly.  He will often blend words together or some words may not make sense at all.  This isn't something I personally noticed immediately until Helen flagged it up in a VT viewing. This is unfortunate but we cannot do anything about it because it is his natural way of speaking.  Throughout rehearsals Josh has managed to help George to pronounce words that aren't legible as best he can however this is very hard to correct in some cases.

So far George has proved to be a great character to add to the show, however he needs to be more confident on his lines.  Josh has come up with a way to help him throughout the show by giving him an iPad that has his script on so that he can use it for reference.  Josh can also annotate the script with live updates that goes straight to George so that if something has to be cut or extended, George immediately has it.
