Studio Production: Initial Ideas
I like the idea of having a heavily involved audience as I believe it will add to the energy of the piece. If the audience is the main bulk of the show then it will help to make them energised and enthusiastic. I have managed to come up with two ideas.
In the past we have spoken a lot about taking something old and turning it on its head to create something new. I have decided to try and go with this theme to see what I can create.
My First Idea is as follows:
Granny Grimm's Stories (Working Title)
This show is aimed at children aged 6-10. They are the audience and sit on set around Granny Grimm's armchair. Granny Grimm then tells them much loved fairytales such as Cinderella, Rapunzel and Snow White. The stories are not the stories the children are necessarily familiar with. They are the original 'folk tales' created by the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. The idea is to show them how stories were told to children in the time of the originals. This would be done through a series of VT's that would be dramatisations of the Grimm stories. This would work because the stories are usually quite short making them acceptable for the VT's to run. The children would also be able to dress up in costumes of the time and re in act their favourite stories. They would learn the different wording that is seen so often in Grimm's tales and understand their meanings. Here is what I imagine the set design to look like:

My Second Idea is as follows:
Giant Guess Who (Working Title)
You have one player and a presenter. The presenter asks the contestant general knowledge questions in order for them to gain the chance to ask guess who style questions about who "it" could be. For example, if they answer 3 questions right they can ask 3 guess who questions to work out who "it" is. The VT's could be clues as to who "it" is, similar to that of catchphrase.
Here is my set design idea for this show:
These ideas are only in their very early developmental stages but currently I feel my first idea is the strongest.
