Digital News - Feedback and Approval from Demelza
In regards to contact with our contributors, I did the liaising with both Demelza and Tesco's. I had an awful lot of contact in particular with Demelza as they had concerns with what our filming content may be. This a preliminary caution because they are in constant work with children and it is their job to safe guard and protect them through anything with Demelza's name.
I had to send across to them our rough cut of the information that would be in the finished film for approval. I received this email stating that they were happy for us to go ahead.
Taking on board her feedback about including their full name title at the beginning of their introduction, we worked the script to ensure that we met their criteria so that we could use the footage shot with them confidently. I have kept in contact with the marketing and communications department throughout the process. This is from starting my initial ideas and seeking permission, through to organising filming dates and times as well as sending question amendments and answering any questions they may have as well as them helping us to collaborate with them to ensure that we could get the answers we were looking for.
Even after we received approval, I had to make a phone call to Demelza to ask how to pronounce Alexandra Kopyciok. It was important to make this phone call as I wanted to get it right for her introduction in the studio piece.
Overall I am confident that I have kept our contributors in the loop of what is happening with our project and from feedback from Demelza, they seem to be happy as well. In the future I think I will work on my phone calling skills as I am not very confident in picking up the phone and asking the right questions. In future I will continually practice this by writing down what it is I need to find out and also important dates and times such s deadlines. This will enable me to come across as more professional and give the contributors a much clearer view of what it is I'm hoping to achieve with them.
