Joanna Brame: Countryfile, Conservation Compilation

Countryfile is a hit UK TV show that focuses each individual episode on a specific part of the world's nature. This episode, Conservation Compilation, showed the spectator young ducklings and their hatching process.I found that the programme has used a variety of hand held shots that are smooth but make your audience really feel a part of the journey the presenter is going on. The presenter, Matt Baker, even at one point takes the camera from the crew and shows them to the audience dressed in the attire appropriate to enter the duckling's sanctuary. This forces your audience to immediately understand that what is being shown is factual and reminds them that it is a filmed documentary.

They have lots of bright colours in their drone shots of the surrounding lands which creates an inviting atmosphere, enticing the audience into watching more. This is something I would like to re-create in our documentary because our main outcome is to change people's perceptions of vultures. By having bright colours, I believe this will be achievable with the right GVs of the birds as well.
