Group Project - Self Portrait Practice
Group Self Project
As a group of 5 we had to come up with a 2-4 minute video as an introduction to our Self Portrait Projects. We had 4 hours to conceive an idea, film and edit it all together ready to screen at the end of the day.
I enjoyed this project as it helped me to understand the project brief in further detail and was pleasing to see the end product.
We chose to shoot the film in the style of Charlie Chaplin's silent movies and felt that by speeding up the footage it created the genre of Chaplin's movies. We included music from his Lion in a Cage movie and this added a jolly tone to the black and white movie we created.
I enjoyed this project as everyone got to see each others directorial style and get a taster for what our individual projects could be like. It has also helped us to come up with some ideas for our self portraits which we found we had been struggling with before.
