Second Edit of Jimmy's War

Taking on board all of the comments from my first trailer, I have produced a second edit. The main thing that I was aiming for whilst producing this edit was to make the two minutes look more like a trailer by creating more dramatic and punchy sequences. I also added in the archive footage, music and titles which was fed back to me from the first edit. Here is what I produced.

After seeing Fergus, he suggested that I substitute one shot for a more dramatic looking shot of Rylee walking towards the camera as opposed to the audience seeing him walk out of the door. This is because it removes the moment that has built up and dampens it.

When I showed Simon, he was pleased that he could see the progress from the first edit that I showed him. He gave me further feedback on what needs to be improved for next time. He was concerned about the war footage that I had used as it could be mistaken by the audience that I have filmed it myself when this isn't the case. I need to find genuine archive footage which will add clarification and authenticity to my trailer. He also suggested that add some video effects like blending the archive footage into the present day footage to show how they relate. To do this, I could create a black and white dissolve effect on the shot which will allow me to show the audience that the characters have had some involvement or a history in the war. Also I may need to reconsider my choice in music because the lyrics can be distracting when the characters are speaking. This is all helpful feedback which I shall act upon to make my trailer improved.
