Filming the Sound for Sammi

I was asked by Sammi if I would help her film the sound when she shoots her footage on Monday 2nd November. This was my first "real" on location shoot and my first proper experience of capturing sound. At first I felt very nervous and not confident in slightest. I was worried that I would be getting in the way of the actors and that I wouldn't capture the sound right.

As the day went on I realised that is was more important to reply on the boom to do it's job and to just get as close to the actors as possible without getting in the way of the shot. I felt that I had good communication with both Sammi who was directing and Ida who was filming. I learnt that this was a very important part of the production process and will make sure that I maintain this when I am filming my own project.

After the day ended I was grateful for the experience and I felt ready to film my own project.
